Women On Fire

It happens over time;
one leaf turns golden, then another, 
until the whole tree is on fire, 

and yet another woman deemed too much, 
keeping herself small,
rubs up against another in her little way
until they are a blazing forest.

Angela Hoffman lives in Wisconsin. With her retirement from teaching and the pandemic coinciding, she took to writing poetry. Her poetry has been widely published.
